Women Ahead is proud to celebrate 25 years of supporting and empowering women in business and leadership. Our 25th Anniversary Gala, taking place on Friday 25th September at the Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, Dundee, will bring together members, partners, business leaders and supporters for an evening of celebration and connection. All are welcome at the Gala.
As part of this special milestone event, we are delighted to welcome a number of distinguished speakers who will share their insights and perspectives on leadership, community and creating positive change.
We’re also proud to be supporting our charity partner, The Archie Foundation, which provides vital support to babies, children and families across Scotland. Funds raised through the Gala will help the charity continue its incredible work, supporting families through some of life’s most challenging circumstances.
Meet our speaker: Carolyn Currie MBE
We are honoured to welcome Carolyn Currie MBE, Chief Executive of Women’s Enterprise Scotland, as a speaker at the Women Ahead 25th Anniversary Gala.
Carolyn is one of Scotland’s leading voices on women’s entrepreneurship, gender-inclusive policy and productivity. Through her leadership of Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES), she has played a significant role in championing evidence-based support for women-led businesses and helping to create a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Under Carolyn’s guidance, WES has launched innovative initiatives designed to support women founders at every stage of their business journey, including the free-to-access Women’s Business Centre platform and pioneering work exploring crowdfunding and alternative investment models. Her work has helped remove barriers to entrepreneurship and increase access to opportunities for women across Scotland.
Beyond her role at WES, Carolyn serves as Chair of the Productivity Institute in Scotland and contributes to both G20 and OECD policy papers, helping to shape conversations around inclusive entrepreneurship on a national and international stage. She is also a trusted adviser to government on issues relating to women’s enterprise and economic participation.
In recognition of her outstanding contribution to women’s entrepreneurship, Carolyn was awarded an MBE for services to women’s entrepreneurship. Her passion for driving systemic change, supporting business growth and creating opportunities for future generations has made her a highly respected leader within Scotland’s business community.
