We are delighted to share that Women Ahead Chair Delia Smith-Bucur has been named as a finalist in the Social Enterprise Volunteer Champion category at the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2026.

Social Enterprise Finalist logoThe awards recognise the organisations and individuals creating positive impact in communities across Scotland. This year attracted a record number of entries, making the 2026 shortlist one of the most competitive in the awards’ history.

Delia is one of just five finalists shortlisted for the Social Enterprise Volunteer Champion award, which recognises individuals who go above and beyond through their volunteering and make a meaningful difference to their organisation and community.

Four years of leadership at Women Ahead

Delia has served as Chair of Women Ahead for the past four years, giving her time, experience and expertise on a voluntary basis to help lead the organisation and support its continued development.

During that time, she has played a central role in strengthening Women Ahead as a social enterprise and ensuring it continues to support, connect and champion women in business and professional life.

Her contribution draws on extensive experience as a business leader and strategic adviser. Delia is the founder of strategic business consultancy Del Fin Group and works with founders, entrepreneurs and senior leadership teams in the UK and internationally. She holds an International MBA and BSc (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Dundee and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

But it is Delia’s commitment of that experience, energy and time to Women Ahead that makes this recognition particularly special.

Everyone at Women Ahead would like to congratulate Delia on a thoroughly deserved place on the shortlist.

The winners of the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2026 will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Radisson Blu Glasgow Hotel on 28 October 2026.
